► Finding Accomodation

Education & Welfare Officers can help with finding accomodations, problems with it, and provide advice on Tenants' rights and Housing Legislation. The Education and Welfare service also produces advice leaflets and information packs on housing. There is also a copy of the Housing Rights manual available for consultation regarding specific problems.

ACCOMMODATION OFFICE

The Accommodation Office is part of Student Services. They manage University run accommodation, including Head Leasing and Halls. They also retain housing lists for the private rented sector accommodation in the area, and can help with all kinds of accommodation problems.

FINDING ACCOMMODATION

There are many ways to go about finding accommodation. Look early as the best accommodation is usually snapped up fairly quickly.

For University managed accommodation you should contact the Accommodation Officer in Student Services, who cover on-campus and head-leasing accommodation.

For SHAC accommodation contact Head Office, 29 Bedford Street, Belfast. Tel: 028 90 246811 or your nearest SHAC office, Welfare Officer or Site Vice President.

For private rented sector housing look in the Belfast Telegraph or local University area paper, Estate Agents, accommodation office lists of rented housing, check University and Students' Union notice boards or call at the Education and Welfare Office. Keep your ears open for housing by word of mouth.
