Welcome to the University of Ulster and congratulations because you couldn’t have picked a better place to study. Hopefully, this year will be an enjoyable one for both you as a student and for us your representatives.
Welcome to the University of Ulster and congratulations because you couldn’t have picked a better place to study. Hopefully, this year will be an enjoyable one for both you as a student and for us your representatives.
The Sports Union which has grown out of the old Clubs and Societies branch of the Students Union is about five years old and has developed a great deal since its initial emergence. What does this mean for you? – Well as a University of Ulster Sports Union member you can become a part of the team that will help set the structures and procedures in motion in order to help the University of Ulster succeed in becoming the number one sporting university on Island of Ireland. The Sports Union also gives you a chance to have your opinion’s and suggestions heard and included.
We want to see you involved with the union using it to your advantage and taking up positions on the various committees that help run the students union for your benefit. As the Sports President naturally I would like to see you not only joining some of the clubs that are already set up within the university but also taking up positions on the committees of these clubs as well as the Sports Union Site Committees.
The Sports Union web pages are there to keep you informed as to what is going on within the Sports Union and make sure you pay them a visit after you have finished looking at this site… there you will see the lists of clubs available for you to join and the times the clubs train and meet, you will also be able to see activities that are planned for the year by the sports union as well as review of those that have taken place. We would also appreciate photos and news bulletins which we can include put on the website and in the Ufouria magazine and the Sports Union Newsletter.
Also, be sure to check out the list of clubs on campus and see if you find one that suits you and, if not, then come and talk to me and I will do all I can to accommodate you. Take control of your Union, because it is YOUR Union and your INVOLVEMENT means your ENJOYMENT and our SUCCESS.
I will be available across all four campuses through out the year so please feel free to call in or give me a ring, there’s no need for an appointment - my door is always open to help you with any sporting matters or even just for a chat.
