► Helathy Eating

Healthy Eating

A health diet not only affects your general health, but also your energy levels, your ability to concentrate and yes – looking and feeling good.

Health eating is not just all about lettuce and lentils. Variety and balance is the key. The right mix of the five food groups –

            Bread, cereals, potatoes

            Fruit & vegetables

            Dairy products

            Fish, meat and alternatives

            Fat & sugars

And the right portions of these will give you all the essentials needed to survive student life.

Party Tricks . . .

q       Before you go out to a pub/club or party make sure to drink 2-3 glasses of water so you’re hydrated. If you arrive thirsty and you’re offered a chilled bottle of beer you’ll down it quickly.

q       Try and intersperse alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic drinks.

q       Eat before you arrive so your blood sugar levels haven’t dipped.

q       At the party, stand away from the food – so your hands don’t stray!

Now you’re at university and more than likely living away from home. It’s up to you to look after your health. There is lots you can do to keep a healthy mind and body.
