Training Available
There is training available for reps on each campus at during Weeks 4 & 5 of Semester 1.
It is too late for you this semester, but if you get in touch with us we could look to having more in Semester 2 for those of you who have missed out.
If you can't make it onto campus we have support available through the online learning environment BBLearn. You can register for the 'Skills Development through Student Representation' module and all the information that you need to carry out your role is there. In addition the module area will allow you to discuss areas of common concern with reps across all faculties and campuses.
Class Representative Handbook
This handbook provides you with an overview of the role and also explains some of the key committees and tasks you will sit on and carry out as a represnetative. Please download it and save it on your computer for future reference.
If you need a hard copy of this document please get in touch as there are some available.
Campus Student Union Meetings
We realise that there are a lot of competing priorities for students these days - you have coursework, part time jobs and caring responsibilities.
It is still important that we make the effort to meet as a group however, maybe another rep has had a really successful campaign that you might want to hear about, or you need to ask us about something in particular that you have been thinking about.
Even if it is nothing specific, sometimes it is just useful to get together in a group with people who are carrying out a similar role and chat about the challenges. We aim to have at least one Class Rep meeting per semester. They start next week on the Belfast and Jordanstown campuses and the following week in Magee and coleraine. The details are as follows:
Belfast: Thurs 17th November 12pm
SU Space (ground floor of the Orpheus Building)
J’town: Thurs 17th November 1pm
SU Bar (Block 11)
Magee: Tuesday 22nd November 12pm
SU Bar (MG Building)
Coleraine: Wednesday 23rd November 12pm
SU Bar (South Building)

Students' Union Support
Your Students' Union is here all year round to give you support. You can contact your campus Officer with any course or University issue - their contact details can be found here or use the contact box at the bottom of this page to contact Avril Honan, the Student Engagement Manager (staff post) in the SU.
Frequently Asked Questions
There are a number of things that you may be asked throughout the year that past Officers have put together some answers for. These include things such as, filling in an extenuating circumstances form, appealing an exam mark or the meaning of plagiarism. Most of these queries can end up being quite complex and the students should also get in touch with us here in the SU for further support.
