Make Jordanstown Great Again!

Hi there, my name is Conor Keenan and I’m currently in my 3rd year of studying Computing Systems at Jordanstown. I hope to gain your vote and support to become the VP for Academic and Student Affairs at Jordanstown in the up and coming UUSU Student Officer elections.

I am running for this position because as a student I am only too aware of the high pressures that studying entails including exam stresses, financial constraints, balancing extra-curricular life and the challenges that we face with the prospect of graduating. I know that I would be the perfect ambassador to represent the student body in its entirety, regardless of political background, gender or race, and aside from the issues that I believe to be of great importance, I want to listen to you and campaign on the issues that you feel stand in the way of your student experience.

  • Better Communication and Involvement with the Student Body - I aim to be the voice of the students and campaign on issues that you see as a priority.
  • More Puppies During Stressful Exam Periods
  • Better Financial Support – Financial worries are a key concern for students so if elected I plan on working to promote available financial advice, aid and support for those in their time of need.
  • Non Half Zip Day(s)
  • Campus Move (Merging with Belfast) – I want to make this move as seamless as possible for students so you can keep your focus on your studies and not how you’re going to be affected by this.
  • Make Queens Build a Wall
  • Improve Evening Facilities for Students – Once 5pm hits the number of available facilities drops drastically leaving students short on places to relax in between classes and library/study sessions.
