Arts and Craftivism
Monday 01 November 2021
Rock Road Social, Magee. (MG Building/UUSU)
6pm - 9pm
This week at Procraftination, we invite both our crafters and any students attending the Support Student Health Campaign protest at Stormount on the 8th, to a chill night of arts and craftivism!
If you wish to make placards for the protest, we are supplying materials to do so. Alongside our standard material selection and hot drinks and snacks.
This is a free event to give everyone a chance to prepare their placard if they wish.
Here's a little bit about the cause:
Support Student Health Heroes is a campaign being run by UUSU to make sure that after years of being underfunded, our nursing, allied-health, social work, and medical students get the financial support needed and deserved! In the words of one student "Covid-19 has revealed a striking lack of financial support for Health and Social Care and for its future workers alike. If the government continues to put students in such financial desperation, the HSC won't have a future.” As one example, the nursing bursary hasn't increased since 2012, despite over a 9% increase in the cost of living.
