n 2017-18, the club has had much success; we attended several competitions such as, the Irish Intervarsity in Cork, and the NW Closed Championships in Foyle Arena, Co. Londonderry. The club also had gradings in which everyone was successful. A committee member achieved the Club Award at UUSU’s Colours Awards 2018, as well as many other awards achieved by the club in the past. This success of our players has come from joint training at Ulster University’s Sports Centre, and at the Coleraine Leisure Centre with the local judo club. We are hoping to grow this success further in 2018-19, and would love some fresh players to compete. The club also suits as extra training for those that practice MMA, Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, Traditional Ju-Jitsu as well as playing Rugby. We are particularly targeting women as this sport allows for them to build confidence, strength, fitness as well as allowing it to clear their minds so they can focus on their university studies.
