Basketball (Men's)



Basketball is one of the high performance sports at Ulster University. With a long history of winning both college leagues and Intervarsity titles in the men's competitions, the current total being seven titles in the past ten years. Recently the women have had success with three finals and one title in the past couple of years. Both teams compete in Division one of the college leagues and in the past three years we have had a men's team from Magee campus compete in Division three, they reached the final 4 last season. Wheelchair Basketball have sent a team to the British Universities Competition and finished a high of seventh last season.


This year we have opportunities for students to compete for the Division one team in Jordanstown in both Men's and Women's competitions as well as in Division three Men's in the Magee. Please check the basketball social media pages for details of training and trials. There will be opportunities for students to experience Wheelchair Basketball on all campuses and we also provide opportunities for students that would rather play at a recreational level with 3X3 and recreational and social basketball session takin place in Magee, Coleraine and Jordanstown during the semester. For the first time there will be opportunities for recreational students to represent the university in 3X3 in regional and national events.
