Club/Team coached: Ulster University Judo (Coleraine Campus), Coleraine Judo Club, and Former coach to NI Squad

Coaching experience: Black Belt 6th Dan, BJA Level 3 Coach.

Current Positions:  President NI Judo Federation, Vice President of Commonwealth Judo Association, Director of NI Games Council, and Vice Chairman of Coleraine Sports Council

Sporting Idol: Too many to list but two outstanding players are:

Yasuhiro Yamashita (Japan) an all time great - 9 times all Japan Champion, Olympic Gold and 4 World titles. In a career spanning from 1977 to retirement in 1985 he remained undefeated.

Teddy Riner (France), current World Champion. He has won 10 World Championships gold medals and two Olympic golds.

Coaching Idol: My coach, the late Jack Carabine, 4th Dan

Aims for your club/team this season: To host a successful Intervarsity and to achieve podium places at this and other events

Player to watch out for: The UU Club has an enthusiastic group of beginners who should do well in 2018-19. Club coach Rebecca Cuckoo 1st Dan is still a student and competing at college and National events. She is expected to add to her already extensive medal collection during 2018-19.
