Welcome to the Student Rep resource page.
Unitu is your new student voice platform at Ulster.
This platform will be your main feedback tool going forward in your rep role. As you will know, in your rep role you will often have to rely on your own personal platforms, email & txt etc to contact students in your course for feedback. You can either get radio silence or lots of comments, which you then need to collate & try to action further. We continually receive Student Rep feedback to say that this informal process can often be time consuming, not concise and runs the risk of missing some students out.
Unitu will help connect student, reps and staff to help simplify the process and allow you to connect much easier and gain more representative feedback. Unitu does not replace SSCCs (Staff Student Consultative Committees) but instead allows you gather more accurate feedback for input at SSCCs.
All 26,000 Ulster students have access to the Unitu platform. We have created a feedback board for each of the 21 schools at Ulster. You will have access only to your own school board. You will have a REP tag beside your name, with your rep role listed below (Course Rep, School/Dept Rep or Faculty Rep). This will easily identify you to the students.

See below a brief tour of what your feedback board will look like and the handy features it includes.
Unitu allows students to provide different categories of feedback - post praise about what you’re enjoying, any issues you might be experiencing, maybe you have a question or an idea you would like to share.
This more organised way of gathering student feedback will help you as a rep to gather feedback that is more representative for the course/ school as a whole. Allowing you to be fair & professional in your role. As a Student Rep you will be able to pose a question, interact & review posts – allowing you to gauge when something is a collective query or not.
If your course staff are enrolled on Unitu, Student Reps can escalate collective queries to the ‘public area’ of the feedback board for a staff representative to answer & engage on. You can collectively discuss the feedback with staff and visibly track how it has been acted upon in real time. Check out the ‘Members’ tab to see all members on your school board.
