Causeway Coast is Home for All
Saturday 04 April 2026
2pm - 4pm
Ulster University Students’ Union unequivocally condemns the racist and Islamophobic rhetoric behind the planned rally in Coleraine on April 4th. Language targeting “foreign infidels” is designed to divide communities and intimidate migrants, international students, and people of faith. Racism and Islamophobia have no place on our campus, or in our town.
Our international students and students from minority ethnic backgrounds are a valued part of the Ulster community. We stand in solidarity with them, and with everyone who believes the Causeway Coast should be a welcoming place for all who live, work, and study here.
We support the peaceful counter demonstration “Causeway Coast is Home for All”, organised by the Causeway Trade Union Council, which sends a clear message that our community rejects hate and stands for inclusion and solidarity. Contact your VP Equality and Belonging, Catherine Mailey, if you would like to join UUSU at the counter demonstration.
We recognise that events like this may be upsetting or distressing for some students. If you need support, please contact Student Wellbeing, who are available to help.
Ulster University Students’ Union stands firmly against racism, Islamophobia, and all forms of hate. The Causeway Coast is home for all.
