Holi Festival – South Asian Society
Join us for a vibrant celebration of Holi, the Festival of Colours, at Coleraine Campus on 12th March from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Holi is a traditional South Asian festival that marks the arrival of spring and symbolises joy, unity, and new beginnings. This event brings students together to experience the energy and cultural richness of one of the most colourful festivals in the world.
The evening will begin with a short introduction explaining the significance of Holi and the traditions behind it. Subject to approval, we will then host a supervised outdoor colour celebration using eco-friendly, skin-safe powder. Participants are welcome to take part in a respectful and controlled way.
From 7:00 PM, food will be served in E019 (subject to final arrangements), followed by music and a lively dance floor in the bar space. Expect Bollywood and South Asian music to keep the atmosphere energetic and inclusive.
We are also exploring the possibility of having a henna station available during the event, adding another cultural element to the celebration.
Whether you’re celebrating Holi for the first time or continuing a tradition, this event is open to everyone who wants to enjoy an evening of colour, culture, music, and community.
Come dressed in light clothing you don’t mind getting colourful — and get ready to celebrate!
