Marxist Discussions

Monday 24 November 2025

Ground Floor Starbucks, BC Building

6pm - 8pm

Comrades of Ulster University!

Every week, we hold interactive discussions on all things related to Marxism - historical events from the lens of the working class; current events that reflect the modern class struggle; theoretical topics such as Marx's dialectical materialism and historical materialism, Lenin's ideas on Bolshevism and imperialism, and Trotsky's theory of the permanent revolution; and of course how to put it all into practice! These meetings usually feature a guest speaker leading off the discussion with an introductory topic, followed by a small presentation on the fine details of that topic, and finished off with an interactive discussion where comrades are encouraged to come with any questions, comments, or otherwise. The point is for every member to develop themselves politically in order to effectively lead the working class to socialism! Anyone is welcome and encouraged to attend!

For specific details on what this weeks discussion is, follow us on Instagram @uu_marxist_society! We post on what will be discussed, as well as resources for participants to read before-hand so that they come well prepared to the meeting.
