Friends of MSF
Welcome to Ulster Friends of MSF!
We are the student society supporting Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), better known as Doctors Without Borders.
MSF is an incredible, independent humanitarian charity. They send doctors and nurses to provide emergency medical care in places where it's needed most—areas hit by wars, epidemics, or natural disasters. They operate in over 60 countries today, helping anyone regardless of politics or background. Current areas MSF is involved in include: addressing malnutrition South Darfur, diarrhoea crisis in Yemen, and the humanitarian crisis in the Middle East involving Palestine.

Our Society Goals: What We Do
1. Raise Awareness
We want to show our campus community the crucial work MSF does. Via events and regular newsletters we'll educate everyone on current global health crises, the challenges of crisis medicine, and the core principles (impartiality and neutrality) that guide MSF's missions.
2. Fundraise & Socials
Our main mission is to raise money through fun, engaging activities to directly fund MSF's life-saving projects worldwide. These events are also the perfect chance to network and meet brilliant, like-minded people!
3. Career Inspiration & Education
We aim to bring in former and current MSF staff for talks and circulate regular newsletters. You'll get real-world insight into humanitarian work, crisis medicine, and global health. Whether you're a medical, nursing, or non-medical student, we'll help inspire and inform you about future professional opportunities in this field!
4. Advocacy
We'll run events and advocacy efforts on campus, supporting MSF's causes related to current humanitarian issues and global health crises. We aim to be a strong voice for change!
5. Community Building
We're building a supportive, inclusive community where students passionate about humanitarian aid and global health can meet, share ideas, and work together on meaningful projects.
