Global Business & Enterprise Society, Magee

Hello everyone, this is the Global Business Society. We welcome all students from the Magee campus, with a focus on students who are a part of the Ulster University Business School.

Who Are We?

The Global Business Society are a group of students who wish to bring together students with a passion towards business and enterprise to network, helping each other along entrepreneurial journeys while creating lifetime connections and improving professional relationships.

Our Aims

The main aims of our society is to connect students who are studying a business related degree on the Magee campus to grow their professional and personal skills. We want to work with you to create a society that allows students to grow and develop throughout their time at UU!

Objectives

1. To connect Magee Business Students, encouraging students to grow their networks outside of the classroom, with both educational and charity events

2. To work in collaboration with local businesses, hosting fireside chats with professionals,and learn more about business opportunities outside of the classroom

3. To host study sessions, giving students the opportunity to make some new friends while also getting their coursework done

4. To create a positive community for all those both in our department and outside, letting students learn more about opportunities in the business world

Activities / Events

Guest Speakers

We aim to reach out and get small local businesses to give talks about how they run their business, the inner workings and what it takes to manage their business. This is also a chance for students who wish to set up their own business to ask questions and get the answers they. We also aim to get alumnis to come in and talk about their experiences after university and how they got to where they are now.

Nights Out

We want to create a community of students, letting you meet new people and make friends! From themed nights out, karaoke and bingo hosted at a range of venues!

Coffee Morning and Study Sessions

For students who are commuting to campus, or maybe nights out aren't your thing, we will be hosting several coffee mornings and study sessions on campus. Maybe you're struggling to find motivation to complete your coursework, or simple want to have a cup and a chat with your friends, these events are for you!

CV and Interview Skills Workshops

We want to support students in all aspects of their university journey, we plan to host several CV and Interview skills workshops throughout the year, to help you stand out when applying for internships, placement opportunities and graduate employment.
