Ulster University Students Elect New Students’ Union Officers & Representatives
Students at Ulster University have elected their Students’ Union Officers & reps for the 2026/27 academic year, following campaigning & voting across campuses. Over 4,200 students took part in this year’s elections, choosing the students who will represent their views and priorities within UUSU & across the University
The newly elected Students’ Union Officers are:
- President: Lee Doran
- Vice President Education: Rebekah Robinson
- Vice President Equity & Inclusion:Catherine Mailey
- Vice President Sport: Caoimhín Heaney
- Vice President Belfast: Callum Crummey
- Vice President Coleraine: Benjamin Smyth
- Vice President Magee: Shauna Whyte
Alongside the Officer team, students also elected a new cohort of School and Faculty Representatives, who will represent students within their academic areas and work with the University and Students’ Union to raise issues relating to teaching, learning, and the wider student experience.

This year’s elections also saw the election of the first cohort of Sport Representatives, strengthening the voice of students involved in sport and physical activity across the University.

All elected representatives will begin their roles in July 2026, taking on the responsibility of representing students, raising the issues that matter most to them, and working with the University to push for meaningful improvements across every aspect of the student experience. From academic representation and campus life to wellbeing, sport, equality and inclusion, these students will play a key role in shaping the priorities and work of the Students’ Union over the coming year. Being elected by thousands of fellow students is a significant mandate, and the new cohort of representatives will have the opportunity to advocate for change, amplify student voices, and help make Ulster an even better place to study and live.
