Residential assistant, former class rep, campus ambassador and your candidate for VP Magee.
Hi everyone, I’m Ben. I’m a third year Cinematic Arts student, and a residential assistant in Duncregan Student Village of the last two years. I’ve always believed Magee was a campus of inclusion, diversity and opportunity but I know with the skillset I’ve developed over the years of caring for others, supporting them and helping them feel grounded in the face of adversity, that I am the right person to be your campus VP. I’ve had my feet on the ground with all of you, sharing all the hardships and joys being a student can offer, and most of all, I want to help. To support students, I plan to;
-Create more opportunities for students within the school of Arts and Humanities to express themselves and share their work by creating an arts festival here on campus.
-To support all healthcare students, by creating fundraisers to help cover the costs of uniforms and essential equipment. By communicating with the faculty and healthcare student ambassadors to support these students through their placements, from travel, location and any other queries or concerns.
-To continue the brilliant sexual health campaign here on campus in Magee brought to you by UUSU.
-To support students in all forms of student accommodation or housing by assisting in finding accommodation, helping organise carpools for people who are travelling or working with university accommodation to dispute any concerns or claims.
As a residential assistant, a campus ambassador and final year student, I understand the struggles of a student and I have been supporting students this whole time already. I believe that myself and my campaign are limitless and I believe as a campus, we all can be.
