Candidate for the position of Vice-President Magee

Lee Doran

Your Voice, Your VP, Lee Doran

Dear Students of Derry/Londonderry,

I am thrilled to stand as a candidate for Vice President of Magee. I am determined to bring a fresh
and genuine perspective to this role. My vision is centred on bringing together a close knit
community at Magee in which every student feels valued, heard and part of something greater than
just simply their course or society.

Creating the This is Magee Culture
I want us to build a collective society that defines us as Magee University. I am committed go
fostering an inclusive environment where all societies and clubs uniformly can identify as a Magee
Student through collaborative initiatives, events and activities we will strengthen our identity. This
will make Magee a place where each person feels a sense of belonging.

Living with the Students
I believe in leading by example and truly understanding the day to day experience of my fellow
students. As your vice president I will immerse myself into campus life, actively participating in
events, engaging in conversations and addressing your concerns. There will be no disconnection as I
will be living and feeling the experiences in the Derry/Londonderry campus alongside each and every
one of you.

Limit the barriers to Education
I staunchly oppose any suggestion of increasing student fees. Accessible education to all whom are
fit for it is a vital foundation of a thriving academic community. As your VP, I will actively lobby
against rises of student fees. We should stand together to protect our right to a quality education at
Ulster University without excessive financial strain.

In electing me as your vice president, you are choosing a representative deeply connected to the
pulse of campus life. I will dedicate myself to helping my fellow students on campus and foster a
strong Magee Identity.

Yours sincerely,
Lee Doran
