To ensure a welcoming and engaging environment for all computer science students.
Class Representative Manifesto David Hanly
I would like to nominate myself to be the class representative of the first year of the G401 course. For my A level subjects, I studied Digital Technology, Maths and Physics, with similar heavily STEM related GCSE subjects as well. I have always had a strong passion for the field of computer science, keeping a keen eye on latest developments and discoveries in the sector. I have 2 computing related work experiences, one at this very university to gain skills in a computer/engineering related career, and one at Aveva, a multinational company with a branch in Derry.
As course representative, I plan to stand as the voice of the student body, quickly and clearly voicing any queries or concerns the class may have relating to the course, and regularly helping to organize computing related events and activities, but also to rigorously analyse the structure and material of the course. I am also fully prepared to act as a point of contact for any student who is feeling overwhelmed or confused due to the content or scope of the course, and maximise communication between students which will hopefully result in a more connected student body.
