Christmas Card Campaign for Age NI

Monday 29 November 2021

Rock Road Social, Magee campus

6pm - 9pm

Hi everyone! This Christmas at UUSU Procraftination, we are supporting AgeNI in a few different ways, and we would love as many people as possible to get involved however they can, so please read to the end!

First of all, why this charity?:

1 in 3 older people have reported that they feel lonely... Christmas is usually a happy time to share with family, but not everyone has that support - especially as you grow older. Age NI support thousands of older people across Northern Ireland, who may be lonely this Christmas time. As a society, mental health is an extremely important cause that is very close to our hearts, but we recognise that it can affect people of all ages. We therefore believe this is a worthy cause that deserves more recognition and support.

Students and graduates local to Magee Campus, we realise not everyone is in the financial position to donate but if you are willing to donate some time instead, please join us for our Christmas card campaign event at the University: 29th November, 6pm-9pm, Rock Road Social. We will be writing Christmas cards with the aim of donating some to Age NI to redistribute to their service users. Feel free to write a few for your own family - there will be plenty of materials provided! - but also one or two for someone who may be alone this Christmas. All cards gifted will be gathered and sent to Age NI to be redistributed. Additionally, we will also provide some materials to make your own decorations and Christmas-y hot drinks and snacks as a big thank you for those who attend! There is a suggested donation of £4 instead of an entry fee. Thank you for all your support!

How else can I help?: You can support our fundraiser - every little helps and we honestly appreciate anything you can donate!

Or, buying tickets to our hamper raffle full of cosy Christmas treats and crafting gifts! Once we have it assembled, all the exact details will be on our Facebook (@UUSUProcraftination) or our Instagram (@UUSU_Procraftination_Society), so go take a look if you're curious. The money collected from that raffle will go into this fundraiser, but to make sure you're in to win, please contact us first with your details on the Procraftination social media channels or via our email: uusuprocraftination@gmail.com or alternatively buy tickets at our in person events. £2 per ticket or 3 for £5.

Many thanks for all your support!
