We’re excited to announce the Law Society’s very first Tipsy Debate! This event is all about bringing members together in a relaxed and informal setting to enjoy a light-hearted evening of debating, socialising, and maybe a drink or two. Whether you’ve got a flair for public speaking or you’re just looking for a fun way to boost your confidence, this is a great opportunity to get involved.

The idea is simple: take a traditional debate, mix it with a social atmosphere, and encourage everyone to participate—no matter their experience level. You don’t need to be a top mooter or master debater to take part; the focus is on fun, not formality. Expect outrageous topics, passionate arguments, and plenty of laughter.

This is also a great chance to meet other members of the society, make some new friends, and ease into the year with a bit of friendly competition.
