Established in 2026, USMOS is a new interdisciplinary student society bringing together students with an interest in sports medicine, musculoskeletal health, orthopaedics, exercise medicine and athlete wellbeing.
Whether you are studying Medicine, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy, Radiography, Podiatry, or any other allied health discipline. USMOS is designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and real-world clinical practice.
Join us for all things sports medicine - from social sporting activities to educational events we have got you covered - all while having plenty of craic along the way!
A few examples of events we are aiming to do this year include:
🏃♂️ Magee Weekly Social Run Club: Regular group runs starting from Magee Campus, open to all fitness levels.
🎾 Monthly Padel Tournaments: Monthly competitions for healthcare students (Magee Campus).
🏆 Inter-Course & Inter-University Sports Tournaments: Multi-sport competitions bringing together students from various healthcare courses and universities.
🏅 Ulster Healthcare Sports Day: An annual multi-sport event uniting different healthcare courses.
🥾 Guided Outdoor Hiking: Group hikes organized and led by a trained member of the committee.
🩺 Specialist Orthopaedic Webinars & Teaching: Guest-led sessions focusing on key orthopaedic topics and clinical cases.
🦴 Anatomy & MSK OSCE Revision: Peer-led teaching and practice sessions targeting anatomy and practical clinical exam preparation.
🩹 Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics Conference: A flagship event featuring hands-on experience in acute injury management, pitch-side emergency care, and introductory orthopaedic surgical procedures.
🎗️Charity Sports & Endurance Challenges: Fun, active fundraisers including sponsored runs, walks, mountain hikes, and cycle challenges which bring everyone together to smash fitness goals for great causes!
🎉 Medicine & Healthcare Freshers Events: Welcome events designed to connect new medicine and allied healthcare students.
🍻 End-of-Semester Socials: Celebratory nights out at the end of term to socialise across different year groups and courses.

Membership is open to all Ulster University Healthcare students in every year group and provides a range of opportunities to get involved in different events and also access to discounted event tickets.
Some events may be for members only, so don't miss out!
