Concern Debates- Volunteer Judges Needed to Support Local Schools

    Concern Worldwide

This opportunity takes place between 07 Oct 2019 and 01 May 2020. Applications closed on 13 Sep.

Concern Debates 2019 -20 give GCSE and A Level pupils the skills to formulate an argument, deliver a speech, stand up for their point of view and challenge their opponents’ opinions. Concern is looking for volunteers to join our panel of adjudicators to hear the insightful views of today’s youth on global issues. All we need are good listeners who can see arguments from both points of view. We will be running a brief training session which is just 45 minutes and helps the volunteers to understand the marking scheme for the debates. Each debate runs for just over an hour and takes place in the schools themselves in the evening after work. The debates will take place between October 2019 and May 2020. You can support as many or as few debates as you wish, but we would ask all adjudicators to consider supporting two debates during the programme. By volunteering as an adjudicator you will also be helping students to enhance their transferable skills in research, analytical thought and public speaking. If you would like to volunteer as an adjudicator then please submit your application online at: https://www.concern.org.uk/concern-debates-volunteer-adjudicator-sign-form For more information please email: debatesni@concern.net or call: 02890 261524.

    FUNDRAISER.

    Compassion Group Network

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

The vision of our charity is to provide support services for people over the age of 25 years who have fallen through the system. We do this by teaching life skills, on-going professional counseling and mentoring, social inclusion projects, academic education and eventually when foundations are laid into paid employment and apprenticeships. The position of Fundraiser is critical and a very important role in our organisation. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, well presented honest, punctual and will always have an upbeat positive attitude when out fundraising either on street campaigns or doing bag packing or awareness days in key established retail partners across Northern Ireland. All out of pocket expenses will be paid and this includes lunch expenses and if working after 6pm the chairty will afford to our team an evening meal. This is a good opportunity to see Northern Ireland and if you are a person who likes working with people and want to spread the word about what we are doing locally and overseas this we believe is the role for you.
