Welcome Volunteer at Clifton House

Clifton House was the original Poor House in Belfast until the 1880s. For the next 120 years it was a hospital and a nursing home for older people. Today it still provides residential and sheltered housing for older people. At the heart of the building is Clifton House Centre, where the past is brought to life through guided tours, talks and exhibitions, as well as augmented reality, helping to tell the stories of the Poor House and those who sought sanctuary there.

Clifton House are launching a new self-guided tour and require volunteers to greet guests and help visitors download the tour guide app onto their device. Volunteers must have a good understanding of English, a friendly and welcoming approach to customer service and basic IT proficiency. There are various 3 hour shifts available throughout the week so you can volunteer on a day and time which suits you. Email info@cliftonbelfast.org.uk
