Support and Training

You will receive support from the Student Activities team, along with training relevant to the role. This may include training in student engagement, event support, communications, and relevant UUSU systems and processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support the setup, delivery and pack-down of UUSU events, stalls, fairs and engagement activity on your campus.
  2. Welcome and engage students in a friendly, proactive and approachable way, helping raise awareness of UUSU opportunities, events and key activity.
  3. Support the delivery of major engagement periods and events in the UUSU calendar, including Freshers, Re-Freshers, fairs, themed activity and other high-footfall moments across the year.
  4. Support the delivery of outreach and activation activity linked to student engagement priorities, including brew days, on-campus pop-ups, elections promotional activity and other promotional events.
  5. Provide practical and administrative support linked to activity delivery, including preparing materials, assisting with setup, dressing spaces, distributing resources, supporting sign-in and helping events run smoothly.
  6. Help create a welcoming and inclusive environment by representing UUSU in a professional, enthusiastic and student-friendly way.
  7. Support light promotional activity connected to events and engagement, such as postering, flyering or helping increase visibility of activity on campus.
  8. Be available to support activity at the times it is needed, including regular evening work.
  9. Work flexibly in line with campus priorities and support wider UUSU activity where required during particularly busy periods.
