Call for student cost of living stories

Five weeks after the Assembly election there is still no government in sight.  Politicians who pledged their support to the Students Deserve Better campaign can't get on with working to help students, and all the while prices are rising in almost every area of life.

Five weeks after the Assembly election there is still no government in sight.  Politicians who pledged their support to the Students Deserve Better campaign can't get on with working to help students, and all the while prices are rising in almost every area of life.

Rent, food, travel - it's all going up. We've heard from many students who are turning to food banks, and skipping meals and even showers because they can't afford to turn on the electricity.

Now we want to hear from you.

How are rising prices affecting you and students around you?

SUBMIT YOUR STORIES

The Westminster government has promised some support to help ordinary people this autumn, but without Stormont in place it isn't clear how people here will get access to those funds.

And both governments seem to have forgotten about students completely.

We'll keep fighting to make sure that they're included any any government support, but we need your help.

That's why we need to collect as much evidence as possible about how the rising cost of living is affecting students.

If you're a student, a student officer or a students' union staff member, tell us about how the rising cost of living has impacted you, and what support you want to see coming from governments, universities and colleges.

Everyone deserves a decent standard of living. We won't stop fighting until every student gets one.
