A Student Trustee is a representative who serves on the Trustee Board. A Student Trustee specifically represents the student perspective. They act as the liaison between the students and the board, advocating for the needs and interests of their fellow students. This is your opportunity to be part of representing the voice of fellow students, this is an important and empowering role and is a great opportunity to get involved.
The primary role of a Student Trustee is to amplify the student voice. They actively seek the opinions and concerns of the student body and present them to the Trustee Board. This ensures that the students' perspective is taken into account in decision-making processes. As a member of the Trustee Board, the Student Trustee attends regular board meetings, where they provide input on matters affecting students. Their experience and unique perspective shape discussions and contribute valuable insights to the decision-making process. Having a Student Trustee on the board boosts student engagement and involvement in decision-making processes. Students feel empowered knowing that their voice is being heard, which in turn enhances their overall educational experience.
