Study Tips from Nicole, VP Education

Check out Nicole's Top Tips for Study!

With assessment deadlines lurking on the horizon, I wanted to remind you all of some tips I have for studying.
1. I am a To-Do list queen ?? but they can be a bittersweet method too... It is great to make a plan and see what is left to be done on a page but you need to set *realistic* goals.
I prioritise my to-do list by colouring each bullet point with a traffic light system:
?? Needs completed within 24/48 hours
?? Needs to be completed in 1 week
?? Can be done in my free time
There is nothing worse than a lengthy to-do list that demotivates you!
2. With that in mind, try to stick to a routine. I am at my most productive if I've had breakfast, showered and changed my clothes (even if it is into a different set of clean PJs). Keep notes of when your most productive and schedule your day around it!
3. TAKE BREAKS!!! I think I'm invincible sometimes too but burnout is a very real thing. You need regular breaks to hydrate and take your eyes away from screens to avoid headaches.
You're not perfect and that is okay. These are all useful tips but I don't always apply my own advice. I know they are useful and I am super productive if I apply them, but rest days are allowed and it takes time to create good habits. Try one tip at a time and gradually build up your good study habits!!
