Building on the success of our campaign on mental health last year - U OK? We’re here for you, your Students’ Union is proud to launch #UBelong. We know that isolation and loneliness is one of the biggest factors in negatively impacting student mental health. That’s why we’re focusing on creating space for students to connect, to find their people, and to get support and guidance when they need it.

With a series of #UBelong events, we will offer spaces for students to come together to have fun and make friends. Our first event is a Céilí series happening on each campus, you can get your free tickets on the UUSU website now!

We will encourage students to find their feel good through our societies and sports teams, building communities across our campuses.

It is important that UUSU is led by you – so we will provide resources and support for students to run their own campaigns and activities, to improve the mental health and wellbeing of other students. UUSU is offering the opportunity for student groups to apply for a campaign bursary, with any group being able to bid for up to £500 to run activities which focus on the welfare of your group members – applications go live on Monday the 23rd of January and close 17th February. Download a briefing pack here. We are committed to championing your ideas.

Partnering with experts, we will offer training for you to mind your own mental health, and know how to support your friends who may be struggling too. Keep your eyes peeled for opportunities coming soon!

#UBelong here at Ulster University and UUSU, and we will ensure that the support and opportunities are in place for you to thrive.
