"Cab Now, Pay Later"

Ulster University Students’ Union (UUSU) has widened its civic engagement and commitment to its students across Belfast and Jordanstown by entering into an exclusive local arrangement with Value Cabs of the Greater Belfast area.  The relationship will see a number of joint ventures centred around the safety and wellbeing of the student body.  Namely Value Cabs will commit to a Cab Now Pay Later scheme available for all students with a valid Ulster University student card.

The Cab Now Pay Later Scheme ensures that in the event of not having the means to get home in the Belfast area, UUSU and Value Cabs will commit to getting students home safely without the need to pay there and then.  In addition, Value Cabs will work with UUSU on a safety awareness campaign in 2019/20 to ensure student safety is both prioritised and reinforced both with students and the wider community.

Andrew McAnallen, President for UUSU commented:

“We are delighted to reach agreement with Value Cabs, not only to offer our student members a means of travelling home in emergency but also to raise awareness around student wellbeing and safety.  We not only see the Cab Now Pay Later scheme as an excellent additional service for students at Ulster University but very much see Value Cabs as an excellent partner in ensuring that student safety is put firmly on the civic agenda.  With greater numbers of students living in Belfast and the impending new campus development, this partnership has come at the perfect time to make a real impact on the wellbeing of the student population.

Paul McCausland, Sales and Marketing Manager for Value Cabs said:

“We are delighted to be the official Taxi Partner of the Ulster University Students’ Union to provide a reliable transportation option for students. Getting home safe is an important initiative for both ourselves as a company and the SU and our Cab now Pay later scheme will give students a safe guard in times of difficulty. We are extremely proud the University of Ulster Students’ Union has chosen Value Cabs to be their preferred taxi partner which further consolidates our position as being the No.1 Taxi Company for Students in the City. We look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship starting this semester”.
