Student Council

Our Student Council is your voice within your Union, to set our direction and campaign for the change you want to see in the world.
There are seventy seven students on this representative body in total, who fall into the following groups:

Student Officers
The seven students who have been elected to represent you on a full time basis. Check them out over on the officer profile page - here!
Whilst they are mebers of Student Council - they also report to it, and are held accountable to students through this body.

Students' Union Representatives

These seats are for our students involved in other areas of the SU, they are elected at each of their own student forums at the start of Semester 1 - one from each campus:

  • Sports Representative
  • Academic Representative;
  • Society Representative.
  • Open Campus Seats

Campus Representatives 

Ten students from each Campus. 

Student Groups

Our student groups have been identified as students who have traditionally been under-represented within UUSU: 

  • One International Student Representatives per campus;
  • Two Post Graduate Representatives; one taught post graduate student; one research post graduate student;
  • Two Part-time/ Distance learner Representative;
  • Two student parent/carer representatives;
  • Two Black/Minority Ethnic Representatives;
  • Two disabled students representatives;
  • Two mature students representatives;
  • Two LGBT representatives.
