Social Housing

Properties within the social rented sector are owned by public bodies such as the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and any registered housing associations.

Accessing Social Housing

Housing stock remains in very short supply and it is important you have realistic expectations. You will likely be assessed under the Housing Selection Scheme and awarded points in accordance with your circumstances. Details on the application process for the Housing Executive can be found here, if you are applying to a housing association then visit their website for more information.

If you are homeless you should present in person to any housing association or the Housing Executive, if you meet their threshold then you will be provided with emergency temporary accommodation. You should contact The Advice Bureau too, we will help you access any support or adjustments required during your studies.
