Who Are We?

The Global Business Society are a group of students who wish to help equip other business students with essential skills to make them more employable. The society was founded in the Magee campus however we want to have an intergrated society between the 3 ulster campuses, as members have been open to the idea of visisiting and setting up events on other campuses.

Our Aims

The society will not only focus on and enhance the employability skills and knowledge of the business world but we also aim to create friendships which could last a lifetime. The society aims to have a healthy work and life as this will give you skills which come in handy for future workplaces. This society can help students who are feeling lonely at university, who struggle with public speaking or simply want advice and support for starting up their own business. The society wants everyone to feel included and comfortable with eachother, we also aim to set up student tought study sessions either online or in person.

Events

Guest Speakers

We aim to reach out and get small local businesses to give talks about how they run their business, the inner workings and what it takes to manage their business. This is also a chance for students who wish to set up their own business to ask questions and get the answers they . We also aim to get alumnis to come in and talk about their experiences after university and how they got to where they are now. Our first guest speaker is planned to visit at an uncomfired date within the next 2 months, he is a regional manager for a global medical sales company called FIsher and Paykel.

Nights Out

As stated before, we aim to include students from the Belfast and Coleraine campus and in order to accommodate this we are planning to have separate nights out in different campuses. These campus specific night outs will be announced via email and will include further details.

Game & Movie Nights

For students who are more comfortable at home but still want to be part of the society, we are inclusive and accommodating to game and movie nights. We are currently working on setting up a discord where you can play games with new found friends, watch business or nonbusiness related movies or even ask any questions or need advice.
