Ulster University Students’ Union is inviting students to take part in a poster competition to create original designs for our tackling violence against women and girls' campaign.
We are looking for bold and impactful designs that can be used across a range of campaign materials, to promote local services such as Women’s Aid centres and rape crisis hotlines.
There will be three winning designs, with one design featured on each of our three campuses (Belfast, Coleraine, and Magee). You do not need to be based at a specific campus to win for that location, and you do not need to choose a campus when submitting.
In addition, badge designs will be distributed across all three campuses, meaning your work could be seen university wide!
£100 One4All voucher for each winning artist.
Your design should respond to the theme: “Tackling Violence Against Women and Girls.”
We encourage creative interpretations, and you may wish to explore art that focuses on empowerment, justice, allyship, and/or consent.
Your design will be used across multiple formats, including:
- Posters
- Bar mats
- Beer mats
- Digital Screens
- Badges
Please keep this in mind when creating your artwork with regards to it being readable (where applicable) and adaptable.
For the purposes of this competition, we ask that you create one poster design (dimensions listed below,) and if your submission is selected as a winner we will work with you to adapt the design for other formats.
We ask that you do not use AI in your submission, this must be your own original artwork.
The reverse of the beer mats will have information on services available locally to each campus, and on the posters and digital screens there will be a portion at the bottom with this information. The poster dimensions listed below is the design area, excluding the area set aside for information (see example). We will work with you to ensure that the information area matches the colour palette you are working with in your art.
