Ulster University Students’ Union (UUSU) has opened applications for External Trustees to join its Board of Trustees, offering a unique opportunity to help shape the governance and strategic direction of an independent, student-led charity representing more than 26,000 students.
Who We Are & What We Do
Established in 1984, UUSU is a registered charity and membership organization dedicated to representing, supporting, and connecting students across all Ulster University campuses. As a democratic entity, UUSU places student leadership at its heart, ensuring student voices drive decisions through elected Officers, Student Council, academic representatives, societies, and networks.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking dedicated individuals who bring expertise in key operational areas, including:
- Governance and legal compliance
- Risk management and business continuity
- Strategic leadership in the non-profit or public sectors
External Trustees play a vital role in providing oversight, constructive challenge, and strategic guidance to ensure the Union delivers maximum value for its student members.
