Irish Trad Magee

Más beatha teanga í a labhairt, is beatha ceoil é a sheinm.’

If the life of a language is to speak it, then the life of music is to play it.

Derry’s strong heritage of traditional Irish music ensures that Tradsoc events are always, undeniably, an unforgettable experience for both musicians, and for those who just want to enjoy the music and atmosphere.

Our weekly sessions in the Argyle Bar are always open to newcomers (as well as our seasoned TradSoc members) and are a great way to meet new, like-minded people. The society brings together musicians and listeners of all backgrounds and skill levels, from All-Ireland Champions to complete beginners, to share in their grá of Irish song and dance.

You do not have to be a musician to join Tradsoc; everyone is welcomed.

Over the year we will be hosting a vast range of events including our weekly sessions in the Argyle Bar, concerts, workshops and social outings to traditional Irish festivals in Derry and further afield (Imbolc / Birmingham TradFest ??)
